Tata Steel KZN, South Africa

  • Construction has commmenced at the plant site at Richards Bay of approximately Rs. 400 crores (ZAR 670 million) Ferro Chrome plant of Tata Steel (KZN) (Pty) Ltd.
  • The plant is expected to be commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2007 and is expected to have virtually all employees from South Africa and a few from India.
  • Tata Steel has committed to making the Richards Bay plant “the cleanest in the world” with state-of-the-art production processes.
