In 2019, two of our crown jewels simultaneously earned the prestigious World Economic Forum Lighthouse status — the technologically advanced IJmuiden plant in the Netherlands and the dynamic Kalinganagar plant in India, both celebrated for their groundbreaking integration of Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Machine Learning. Then, in 2021, the iconic Jamshedpur plant — Asia's first integrated steelworks — joined this elite global club, completing a remarkable hat-trick of 4IR excellence.
Together, these three Lighthouses illuminate Tata Steel's steadfast commitment to digital transformation, operational efficiency, and sustainable steelmaking. From optimising raw material usage to pioneering digital models, our Lighthouse sites reflect the future of manufacturing.
