The Company produced 5,90,000 tonnes of its leading brand the TISCON re-bars, 1,18,000 tonnes of HCWR and 1,16,000 of LCWR - excluding that sold to Tata Special Steel Limited.

The Wire Rod Mill produced 0.41 million tonnes of wires during the year. The Wire Division’s plants at Borivali and Tarapur produced 1,22,766 tonnes and 63,645 tonnes each, while its EPAs produced 1,20,370 tonnes.

The Company has been tracking the sale of its Long Products as it shifts from non-branded to branded products. During the year, it has created forums for regular interaction with retailers, masons, architects and has been more visible in the marketplace through its advertising campaign and roadshows.

The Company is also promoting the FE-500 grade higher tensile steel through campaigns in technical journals such as the Master Builder, Project Monitor, etc.

The new Wire Rod Mill of the Company produced over 3,00,000 tonnes, while the existing mill produced 4,12,000 tonnes.


  

The Company had taken over the Indian Steel Wire Products (ISWP) Company in January last year. ISWP today produces 15,000 tonnes a month as against it’s previous best of 6,000 tonnes per annum.

 

The Total Sales of the Division recorded rapid growth shooting up from its previous best of 2,30,461 tonnes in 2003-04 to 3,03,736 in 2004-05. With the launch of the Tata Wiron brand sale of branded products registered a promising start at 406 tonnes during the year.
