Street plays - a medium which catches
the
interest of all |
Street Smart and Safe
Dhoom Macha De the street
play on safety staged by LD Shop # 1 struck an instant chord with the audience primarily
due to a very balanced mix of humour and tragedy. These emotions were used effectively to
communicate the message of safety to the audience. The script had been cleverly crafted to
bring to the attention of all, the importance of following the path laid down by DuPont
for Tata Steels journey towards excellence in Safety. At tha end of the presentation
all those present during the show, took a safety oath.
SAFETY the prime
prerogative of every employee
To reinforce the significance of
maintaining safety standards, a one day in-house training-cum-safety talk was organised at
Jamadoba Colliery on January 22, 2005 for all Safety Committee Members of the Colliery.
The training programme focussed on two key aspects - identification of unsafe acts, unsafe
practices and unsafe conditions, and the correct procedure of roof bolting and checking.
Mr Barun Banerjee a safety expert and Manager (Safety), Jamadoba Colliery, highlighted
issues related to it through his talk and shared his understanding with the employees.
Safety Quiz Competition
With a view to guaranteeing safety for
all its employees, the Digwadih Colliery opted to add a fun element to its safety
enhancement efforts by organising a safety quiz competition at the Collierys
Conference Hall. Of the four teams that participated, the team comprising Anant Prakash
and B D Mishra was adjudged winner. The event was also used as a platform for knowledge
sharing and the audience was asked questions during the programme. The answers were
distributed among all electrical personnel.
Annual Mine Safety Week
Tata Steels Opencast Mines,
situated in West Bokaro, participated in the Annual Mine (Coal) Safety Week Competition -
2004 for the Ranchi-Kodarma region. All three mines of the Company have undertaken
numerous modernisation initiatives and now flaunt a fresh new look. Modifications have
been carried out with utmost attention to safety. Inspections for the Model Mines
competition were conducted by the Model Mines Inspection Team, while that for the three
