To ASPIRE is to set extraordinary goals, beyond
current capabilities and then muster the required resources to convert the dreams into
reality. Tata Steels internal improvement mantra ASPIRE has, since its launch in
2003, kept the Companys dreams aglow. Quality Month, observed through the month of
November, stroked the fire for the programme with the Company re-dedicating itself to
ASPIRE with T3. The objective is to zero in on these three improvement
initiatives in achieving Tata Steels growth aspirations.
Through a focus on Theory of Constraints,
Total Quality Management and Technology, the programme will motivate |
employees to leverage the Company resources, thus fast-forwarding its
journey towards becoming a world leader in Steel.
The programme began with Deputy Managing
Director, Steel, Dr T Mukherjee setting the tone for the year forward by emphasising on
the need to dream big and then working towards converting them into reality. The formal
launch of the programme was jointly conducted by the Managing Director, Mr B Muthuraman
and Deputy President, Tata Workers Union Mr Shailesh Singh. Training and
increasing knowledge is essential for improving individual and organisation
performance, Mr Singh emphasised in his |
address. While asking every employee to refocus on the fundamentals of
TOC, TQM and Technology, Mr Muthuraman emphasised on the need to achieve synergy and
integration in their efforts. In the changing scenario, each company must develop
the confidence to acquire their own technology, rather than depending on others, he
asserted.
The ASPIRE programme brought together all
the various improvement initiatives undertaken by Tata Steel such that the Companys
aspirations could, through a judicious combination of them, be realised and the
self-confidence gained to ASPIRE for more. |
