NatSteel Asia has won the Work-Life Excellence Award! To celebrate, the staff was given early time-off from work on July 28, the day of the award presentation.

Previously known as the Singapore Family Friendly Employer Award, the Work-Life Excellence Award is a biennial award conferred by the Ministry of Manpower. It recognises organisations that are committed to helping employees harmonise work and personal life through excellence in Work-Life Strategies.

The award acknowledges that organisations with good Work-Life Strategies will be able to create a win-win situation for employers and employees, spurring staff to be more engaged and motivated in contributing to the organisation’s business performance.

“We can have many wonderful initiatives but these will all come to nought if we do not have our staff’s participation and support. So, kudos to all our staff for winning this award,”
- Liu Fang Joo, Senior Vice-President of Human Resource & Corporate Communications

Pile Cages are going micro!

NatSteel Asia has successfully developed a system for fabricating the cages in a micropile.

Micropiles have smaller diameters than bored pile cages. A micropile usually comprises some two to three cages joined together. The main bars of a micropile have threaded ends, which allow each cage to be connected easily to the next using couplers.

Mesh Production Capacity soars
at NatSteel Asia

NatSteel Asia’s mesh production has risen by nine percent, reaching 6,000 tonnes of monthly output in May and June 2006. This was achieved by installing and commissioning a new mesh welding machine, while disposing off one small machine.
