Winners of Tata World Essay Competition

Rishabh, Chirag and Tanaya at Mumbai

Chirag Mukherjee, Rishabh Shukla and Tanaya Upadhyay recently went on a dream visit to Mumbai. As winners of the essay/drawing competition organised by Tata World they were special invitees at the JRD QV Nite held at NCPA, Mumbai on July 29. Tanaya won the first prize in the essay competition in the 13-14 years age group for her essay, “Planes of the Future”, Chirag won the first prize in the 11-12 years age group for his essay, “There can be no life without trees”, while Rishabh won the third prize in the 11-12 years group for his essay, “Planes of the Future”.

Children from the Tata family were invited to participate in the competition. The consolation prize winners from Tata Steel were Sreya Goswami of Kolkata, Antara Kar of Jamshedpur and Abhishek Mukherjee of Dhanbad.

Chirag, Rishabh and Tanaya were understandably overwhelmed on winning their awards. Each of their father’s told them about the Essay Competition, encouraged them to take part and helped them send their essays to Mumbai. “I found my essay displayed on the board and people appreciating it. As my name was called for the award and my photograph was shown, I was overjoyed,” recalls Chirag. They were equally thrilled on being specially invited by the Managing Director, Mr Muthuraman to congratulate them on their win.
