Tata Steel to partner SAP in offering business solutions

A united force now - the top management and SAP Tata Steel after signing the agreement

Tata Steel entered into a landmark partnership with SAP India, a leading provider of business solutions to offer business software solutions to the metal industry. Tata Steel, which is a leading user of information technology, will offer small and medium sized businesses (SMB) in industry a pre-configured industry specific solution built on the mySAP All-in-One… plans to become a one-stop shop for large metal and mining organisations providing them SAP based solutions.

This is the first time that Tata Steel has diversified into software solutions. The company has already implemented SAP in a phased manner. “Tata Steel is looking forward to extending its relationship with SAP and working together with SAP on developing and implementing proven business solutions,” Mr Muthuraman commented while signing the agreement.

A confident, Mr Alan Sedghi, President and Managing Director, SAP India Sub-Continent said, “This marks a significant milestone in the SAP’s growth in India, further extending our partner eco-system to include leaders from specific industry.”

The partnership between Tata Steel and SAP will bring together the strengths of a leading ERP provider with the proven domain expertise of the Tata Steel to meet customer requirements.
 

Tata Steel listed among’s WORLD’S MOST RESPECTED companies

Tata Steel is the only company in the country to be listed among the World’s Most Respected Companies Survey 2003 for Corporate Social Responsibility.

The Survey is conducted against a background of continuing economic uncertainty and geo-political volatility, which made 2003 a challenging period for business of all types. The survey drew on the views of more than 1,000 CEOs across 20 countries and a select cross-section of fund managers, non-government organisation and media communicators.

Participants in the survey included large subsidiaries and private companies as well as public-quoted organisation from all over the world. The top six of the survey included Microsoft, Toyota, General Electric, IBM, BP and Honda.
