PMs bless Memorandum of Cooperation

Asia is showing tremendous faith in its first steel company, Tata Steel, a show of faith that the Company intends to honour. The presence of the Prime Ministers of India and Vietnam at the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two companies is reflective of this faith. On July 6, 2007, weeks after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Vietnam Steel Corporation - Vietnam's largest steel company- and Tata Steel to set up a steel complex in the country, Tata Steel also entered into a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with Vietnam Steel Corporation. The MoC allows Tata Steel to build steel making expertise in Vietnam by facilitating training and development of VSC employees, assisting them in product development, development of Vietnamese markets, sharing of know-how in steel making and mining, as well as developing a steel strategy for Vietnam.

The MoC was signed between Mr. Dau Van Hung, President of Vietnam Steel Corporation (VSC) and Dr. T Mukherjee, Deputy Managing Director of Tata Steel, in the presence of H.E. Mr Nguyen Tan Dung and Dr. Manmohan Singh, the Honourable Prime Ministers of Vietnam and India, respectively. Also present were senior executives of the two companies, top government officials and dignitaries.
