A one minute silence was observed in memory of those who
lost their lives in the Jamadoba Accident.
The Managing Director, Mr B Muthuraman declared that Customer Road Shows were held by the company, in association with Arcelor,
Europe, at Ford Motors, Chennai and Hyundai, so as to promote the use of galvanised
sheets for the automotive industry. It was a matter of pride, he observed, that Tata Steel is the only Indian steel company to be invited to the Global
Supplier Convention of Toyota in Tokyo. In the Flat Products segment, 22 components
manufactured with Tata Steels products have been approved by Maruti.
Tata Steel recorded significant achievements in the Long
Products segment as well. It has been awarded the contract to supply steel for the
prestigious Bangalore Sky Bus Metro Project. While the
company will supply Tata Tiscon bars free, it will get rights of advertising and marketing
leverage. In another major breakthrough, the company will be
supplying steel for Indias tallest building, the 62 floor Tardeo Complex.
Interactions are also on with Tata Tiscon distributors, Mr Muthuraman announced, to
re-engineer the distribution process.
The Managing Director congratulated the employees for the best ever production records virtually across the company.
In the area of Safety, Mr Muthuraman drew the attention of
the viewers to the need to increase knowledge and awareness.
Du Pont is to be our benchmark in safety standards and they shall be advising
us, he emphasised.
Revealing that the Tata Main Hospital
will soon be a resource centre for training healthcare workers,
Mr Muthuraman said that 90,000 healthcare workers will be trained under an MoU
between the Government of Jharkhand, XLRI and TMH.
