Raw Material Handling

The Department performed exceptionally well to handle 15.56 MT of Raw Materials and facilitate the record 5MT production by the Steel Works. An increase in manpower productivity as well as mechanised handling and unloading of tippler unfit wagons using Grab Buckets resulted in 56130 Coal and Coke wagons (BOXN) being unloaded at RMH. Use of Grab Bucket brought down Coke degradation by 4%.

Daily Management in Iron Ore was implemented and a quantum improvement from 60% to 90% seen in percentage weightment of Raw Material trains.

Iron Making

Many of the phenomenal records registered by the Company were achieved in iron making, with the A-F Blast Furnaces, G Blast Furnace, Coke Plant and Sinter Plant contributing through exceptional performances. The Coke Plant at 167.7 per day, achieved the highest ever pushing in Battery 8 & 9. It also bettered all its earlier performances by achieving the best ever annual record in coal, coke and B.P.P. The Sinter Plant blazed an amazing trail with records on all fronts.
