Jharia first coal mine with OHSAS  accreditation

Congratulations to everyone at Jharia Division for making it the first underground coal mine in the country to receive the OHSAS 18001:1999 and EMS 14001:2004 certification. Prior to this, Jharia Division was certified to the earlier EMS 14001:1996 standard.

It is entirely due to the dedication of the Jharia team, in pursuing continuous improvement in its Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, as well as the Environment Management Standards, that this certification has been made possible. Both Certificates were presented to the Division by Mr Atul Kumar, Senior Vice President, Indian Register Quality System, East Zone and was received on behalf of it by Mr Ch. Divaker, General Manager,
