Tata Steel has, therefore, dedicated its premier football tournament to this leading light of the Tata Group.

Scoring a "coaching" goal

A tearful farewell of a beloved teacher, with signs of "don't go" are regularly played out on a television commercial. But for Mr. Vijay Kumar, Assistant Coach, Tata Football Academy this became a heart rendering reality. He conducted a special football coaching camp for 52 school children in Bhubaneshwar in October on the request of the Orissa government. The camp was inaugurated by the Sports Secretary, Government of Orissa and comprised two training session per day over four days.

After the closing ceremony, which was attended by the Hon'ble Sports Minister, Government of Orissa, Mr Ranendra Pratap Swain, who spoke eloquently of Tata Steel's contribution, the children were presented track suits with "Sports is a way of life - Tata Steel" emblazoned on them.

But the boys decided to have their own private farewell for their coach and went to the railway station to see him off, and asked him to return for another camp soon.
