In yet another historic agreement between the Tata Steel Management and the Tata
Workers Union the long standing issue of temporary employees was settled. The
agreement was signed by the Managing Director, Mr B Muthuraman and President, Tata
Workers Union, Mr R B B Singh, in the presence of Mrs Nidhi Khare, Labour
Commissioner, Government of Jharkhand and other executives and union officials of the
company. The issue had been unresolved for over two decades.
Hailing the agreement as another step towards
strengthening the industrial peace in the city, Mrs Khare asserted that its terms and agreements are much better
than was expected. This, she said, is yet another testimony of the tradition of Union - Management
cooperation.

had shown in facilitating the agreement. He emphasised the companys intention to
continue to improve the quality of life of the employees, and envisioned a day when every
