Mr Rakeshwar Pandey flags off the consignment

With the despatch of a ladle for the company’s LD#2 steelmaking unit from the Growth Shop Profit Centre, on December 27, 2003, the first consignment for the ongoing expansion project of Tata Steel made its way to the Steel Works.

A manufacturer of highly specialised equipment, the Growth Shop has in the past created part of the rocket launch pad for the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). With its ability being increasingly recognised, the Growth Shop is now quickly moving to a position of financial strength.

Growth Shop celebrates a new year and a fresh start

The consignment was jointly flagged off by Mr R P Singh, Vice President, E S & P and Mr Rakeshwar Pandey, President, Tisco Mazdoor Union, in the presence of Mr Harjeet Sandhu, EIC Growth Shop as well as Mr Sukhdev Singh, Chief, O & M.

Reiterating the Managing Director’s statement that “Growth Shop is the diamond in Tata Steel’s crown,” Mr R P Singh, who is also Chairman, Growth Shop, made some valuable suggestions for it to continue on the path of change and success. He congratulated the team for having delivered the ladle ahead of the target date after meeting all delivery commitments.
