The Vision of the Tata Steel Group, launched on February 18, 2008, has placed before the world the very essence of the Tata values, those that have made Tata Steel the organisation it is today. The Vision has fuelled the imagination of its men and women as it challenges them to equate business growth through value creation, with the larger organizational role, of making this growth inclusive growth, such that it touches all stakeholders.

Tata Steel is perhaps the only organisation in the world to overtly state this equal emphasis, as part of its Vision statement. At a time when most organisations in the world are concerned with capturing a share of the growth pie, the Tata Steel Group has stated that it will commit itself to sharing the wealth created by it, with all its stakeholders, without adopting a narrow definition of this responsibility. Its Vision is thus reflective of its century-old values. The Company’s value and its history of responsible business practices have given its

employees and itself immense clarity on their role for the future. The Vision is a challenge that they have given themselves, to demonstrate that the true role of an industrial organisation is to generate wealth such that it benefits people and communities. It is, perhaps, a risk on which Tata Steel has staked its reputation as a steelmaker but the Company believes that, with the commitment of all its employees and the resources and strengths at its command, this Vision will be met.
