  • The Greentech Environment Excellence Gold Award – 2002-2003 in the Mining Sector by the Greentech Foundation, New Delhi.

January ‘04

  • Awarded the 2nd Best Company Trophy in the 16th Workskills India National Competition organised by Confederation of Indian Industries during December 8-11, 2003 conducted simultaneously in Bangalore and Mumbai. The award was conferred on Tata Steel on the basis of performance of its employees who won a total of 11 prizes (5 firsts, 2 seconds and 4 thirds).
  • Bearings Division received TS 16949 certification.
  • West Bokaro Collieries bagged 18 prizes in the Annual Mines Safety Week - 2003.
  • Awarded for exemplary work in energy conservation by Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India.

February ‘04

  • Awarded the coveted The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) Award for CSR 2002/03 in recognition of corporate leadership for good corporate citizenship and sustainable initiatives.
