|
 The
Research and Development of Tata Steel Limited has been conferred the prestigious
"Technology Day Meritorious Invention Award" from National Research and
Development Corporation (NRDC). The award was presented to Dr Ananya Mukhopadhyay, Dr
Sudipta Sikdar, Mr Ashwin Pandit and Mr Saurabh Kundu of Tata Steel Limited for their
extraordinary invention on the development of the "On-line Property Prediction System
for Hot Rolled Coils (OPPRESS)". The joint award carries a cash amount of Rs.1,00,000
and a citation for all the members of the team. |

|
 NACE
International India Section (NIIS), a member of NACE International, USA the largest
Professional Technical Society in the field of Corrosion has selected Tata Steel Limited
R&D Laboratory for the prestigious "NIIS Award for R&D Laboratory in
Industry". This award as the Best Laboratory in Industry in the field of Corrosion is
being given to Tata Steel Limited R&D in recognition of their significant
contributions to Corrosion Awareness in India through research work carried out in
corrosion prevention, as well for corrosion evaluation/ testing and training. The award
has been recommended by the selection committee based on the infrastructural laboratory
facilities availability and its effective utilization, types of tests conducted and the
standards adhered to for corrosion evaluation, research work carried out by the lab in
corrosion monitoring, and training of personnel in the field of corrosion monitoring.The
award was presented at the CORCON 2004 conference in New Delhi on December 2, 2004 by Mr.
Anil Deshmukh, Minister and Chairman, Maharashtra State Road Corporation, Govt. of
Maharashtra. |
