This new group is conspicuous in its formation that it is not engaged in active research. Yet it is very much a part and parcel of the research activities, as its main function is to facilitate the implementation of projects carried out in the department. Its function also includes scouting for ideas of new areas for research as well as synergizing with Tata Steel Europe to help the globalization of the R&D function.
