Launch of Zero Accident Campaign
Jamshedpur, 1.2.2002

"On this day, I re-dedicate myself to work safely and a manner that upholds the health of all and well being of our environment. I shall observe, in words and spirit, all rule & procedures and develop habits conductive to achieving zero accident" employees of Tata Steel repeated this pledge with Dr. T Mukheerjee, Dy. MD (Steel), Tata Steel on the occasion of launch ZERO ACCIDENT CAMPAIGN ON 1ST February, 2002 in the General Works Office's lawn.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Guest Mr. B Muthuraman, MD, Tata Steel stated that safety must be made a habit and this cannot be suddenly imposed. We have to be mentally strong to" adopt and practice safety", he stated further.

Mr. S K Benjamin, President, TWU called upon all employees to support this campaign and avoid accidents.

Both Mr. Muthuraman and Mr. Benjamin inaugurated this campaign by releasing balloons and special issue of Taal-Mel a Hindi fortnightly in-house journals, dedicated to safety.

Tata Steel also got full support and co-operations from Dy. Chief Inspector of Factories, who was also, present on the function.
