DAV Public School, Chandrashekharpur, Bhubaneswar won the Tata Steel Centenary Inter-School Quiz Contest that was held in Bhubaneswar today. Sanjay Nanda and Shubhankar Mahapatra were the participants who belonged to the winning team. The second position was bagged by DAV Public School, Unit 8, Bhubaneswar and the third place was won by Buxi Jagbandhu English Medium School. The chief guest for the occasion was Mr. S K Mahapatra, CEO - Dhamra Port Company who gave away awards to the winning teams. He praised the participants for their enthusiasm and knowledge.

The quiz was a battle of wits and knowledge between the 6 participating teams. The display of intelligence by the students left the audience in awe of the children who exhibited a perfect combination of knowledge and presence of mind. The jubilant team of DAV Public School of Chandrashekharpur, Bhubaneswar won a cash prize of Rs. 5000/-. The team that stood second was awarded Rs. 3000/- and the team which came third received a cash prize of Rs. 2000/- . The response to the Quiz in Bhubaneswar was overwhelming with almost 100 teams participating in the preliminary rounds from across the state of Orissa.

Tata Steel Centenary Inter-School Quiz is one of the many events that have been planned by Tata Steel to celebrate its Centenary. This nation -wide hunt for the students who are unmatched in their knowledge and quizzing has travelled to Ranchi, Raipur, Jamadoba, West Bokaro, Noamundi, Chennai, Bangalore, Tarapore already and it was held in Bhubaneswar today. In addition to these cities, the quiz contest will also set foot in Kolkata and Haldia. This series of Quiz across the country will end in the Grand Finale that is scheduled to take place in Jamshedpur.

The Inter-School Centenary Quiz has been organized with the objective to promote the culture of quest for knowledge amongst students, enabling them to emerge as enriched well-informed and global citizens. As this is Tata Steel's Centenary Year, the Quiz is special as the 3 winners from all centres will be called to Jamshedpur for the Grand finale. The mega Quiz is scheduled to take place later this year in the Steel City, genesis ground of Tata Steel.
