Tata Steel has brought yet another novel idea called Tata Steel Parivar
Scholarship, to create skilled manpower and seize the unlimited employment
opportunities in Kalinganagar and Orissa. This scholarship programme is a part
of the Company's commitment to ensure better quality of life and sustainable
livelihood for the members of Tata Steel Parivar. Its primary objective is to
provide technical and professional qualifications to children of rehabilitated
families.
As a socially responsible organisation, Tata Steel is continuously striving
to improve the education levels and also enhance the professional qualification
of the children of the rehabilitated families. This endeavour by the Company
will enable the Tata Steel Parivar members to take advantage of the upcoming
employment opportunities through massive industrialisation.
Tata Steel has sought application from the children of displaced families who
have received admission into recognised colleges and institutes to undertake
graduate or post graduate professional degree or diploma courses in engineering,
medicine, nursing, teaching, management, IT and others. The scholarship will
cover the cost of fees and hostel either for diploma, graduate or post-graduate
degrees and will pay the institution directly where the student has taken
admission.
For the displaced families of Kalinganagar, Tata Steel is going beyond the
stipulations of R&R policy of the government of Orissa to ensure long term
assurance of better quality of life. This idea has led to the formation of
concept of Tata Steel Parivar and Tata Steel is implementing this Parivar
concept for the displaced families for the first time in Kalinganagar. This
programme will ensure improvement in quality of life and will also give
importance to the cultural and emotional requirements. Each member of the
displaced family is a member of Tata Steel Parivar.
Tata Steel has made a conscious effort to include all displaced families in
Tata Steel Parivar and ensure better standards of living for everybody.
