Tata Steel has won
the IT User Category Award in IT Awards Competition organized by CII & Department of
Information Technology, Government of Orissa recently. The Awards competition showcased IT
initiatives which have helped derive business values in organizations.
Eight teams from different companies participated in the competition
under IT User and Service Providers categories. Balasore Ferro Alloy, Division of Ispat
Group, Ferro Alloy Division, IMFA group, Nalco, Orissa Cement, Paradeep Phosphates, KK
Birla Group Company and Tata Steel participated in IT User Category. Department of Primary
Education, Government of Orissa and Enterprise Systems Solution participated in the IT
Company in Service Providers category.
Tata Steel presented its IT implementation of generic system in supply
chain, to help TOC replenishment model for distributors. The Tata Steel team was
represented by Mr. P.K. Mishra, Head - IT Customer Services and Mr. Aniruddha Roy, Sr.
Manager, TOC Supply Chain & Operation. Tata Steel was declared the winner followed by
Nalco as runners-up in IT User category.
Project e-shishu, Department of Primary Education, was declared winner
in the Service Provider's category.
The jury for the IT Awards was comprised of Dr Naik, HOD, Deptt of IT
& Systems, XIM (Bhubaneshwar), Dr A Das, Country Head, Infosys Technologies and Mr
Gautam Khanna, Delivery Manager - Manufacturing Vertical, Infosys Technologies.
Mr S N Tripathy, IAS, Commissioner cum Secretary, Department of
Information Technology, Govt. of Orissa gave away the award.
