Super Soccer 2007 sponsored by the Tata Group,
is all set to stage a comeback in the Steel City of Jamshedpur. The city is gearing up to
host the 2nd match of the event, which will stage 5 matches in Siliguri, Jamshedpur,
Kolkata, Cochin and Delhi respectively. The match between Sao Paulo (Brazil) and
Mohammedan Sporting (Kolkata) will be held on 31st January 2007 at the JRD Tata Sports
Complex, Jamshedpur. Hon'ble Chief Minister of Jharkhand will inaugurate this match on
31st January in presence of large number of dignitaries and spectators. Sao Paulo FC, is
one of the best teams of Brazil with a fan following of more than 13million.
Tickets for the match have been priced at Rs.20/- and Rs.10/- and the
sale of the tickets will commence on 25th of January at the Keenan Stadium , Thakkar Bapa
Club (Dhatkidih), Jaggu Pan Shop (Dhatkidih), Raju Sports (Golmuri), Guddu Traders
(Adityapur), Mr. R.N. Murmu (Ashish Hotel, Karandih) and Sabuj Kalyan Sangh (Telco).
Complimentary tickets will be issued to each JSA Affiliated Football
Clubs and the District Football Associations affiliated with Jharkhand Football
Association. The Organising Committee will also issue 4000 complimentary tickets to school
children on first come first serve basis. Requests for such "Student Passes"
should be sent, duly forwarded by the Principals of the concerned schools, to the
Secretary, Organising Committee latest by 28th January and upto a maximum of 50 (fifty)
tickets per school. All International Sports-persons and Footballers who have represented
the State will receive complimentary tickets.
Mr. P.K. Bose (MP), Mr. P. Bhaskar (Tamilnadu), Mr. Naveen J Sundi
(Jharkhand) and Mr. Omprakash Thakur (Jharkhand) will be the referees for the match. Mr.
Ejaz Hussain (Bihar) and Mr. B.N.G. Neogi (Chhattisgarh) will be the Match Commissioner and
Referee Inspector respectively.
Sao Paulo & Mohammedan Sporting teams will arrive in Jamshedpur on
28th and 29th of January respectively. JRD Tata Sports Complex is being spruced up to host
the football extravaganza. Both the teams will practice on 29th & 30th January at the
Keenan Stadium and Tata Football Academy grounds.
