Central Forum for Ethics of Tisgroup Companies was held
in Jamshedpur today. The meet was jointly organized by Tata Steel, Tata Rolls and Tata
Motors.
The objective of the Ethics Forum is to share knowledge and support the
Tisgroup companies in sustaining ethical environment. Through this meet the uniformity in
implementation of employee's Code of Conduct is maintained and also the Tata Group
policies / Tata Steel policies are deployed.
Representatives from various Tata Group Companies like, Tata Motors,
Tata Technology and Tata Power shared there knowledge and experiences on Ethics. Eminent
speakers including Mr. Subramaniam, ex DIG, Vigilance, Prof. Virender Kapoor of SITM, Pune
and Prof. Sanjay Mukherji of IIM were present on the occasion.
Tata Steel was the pioneer in starting the Regional forum Meet for
Ethics amongst the Tisgroup Companies, in the year 2004. It is held once a year, where
each of the four Zones of the country meet to discuss and share various issues.
Ethics in mergers, acquisitions and new ventures, Whistle Blowers
confidence in the system, Indian Industry and the need of Affirmative Action and Ethical
issues in reaching out to partner and other topics were discussed in the Ethics Forum
today.
The key note address was delivered by Mr B. Muthuraman, Managing
Director, Tata Steel in presence of Mr. Bhushen Raina, Managing Director, Tinplate company
of India Limited, Mr. Pradip Srivastav, Managing Director, Tayo Rolls Mr. A. P Arya, Tata
Motors, Mrs Rekha Seal, Ethics Counsellor, Tata Steel and other invitees.
