Tata Steel won the Best Governed Company Award
2006 presented by the Asian Centre for Corporate Governance in Mumbai recently. Mr.
Phillip Armstrong, Head, Global Corporate Governance Forum, gave away the award to Tata
Steel Ltd for setting high standards in governance practices.

Tata Steel received the award for the corporate practices which have
enabled the Company to direct and control its affairs in an efficient manner and maximize
its shareholders value.
Mr. Mervyn King, author of Kings Committee Report on Corporate
Governance, chaired the Awards Committee and the members were a mix of eminent
international and Indian personalities, largely drawn from the Global Advisory Board of
Asian Centre for Corporate Governance.
Asian Centre for Corporate Governance (ACCG) promotes global corporate
governance principles of transparency, accountability & equity. The organization is
advised by Global Advisory Board which comprise of eminent International personalities
from USA, Europe & Asia including India.
