Mr Prashant Kumar and Mr Shiva Prakash Rao of Tata Steels
Procurement division has been declared the winners of this years Maple Leaf Award.
This is for the third time that Tata Steel has won the award and seventh time by an Indian
company. The International Federation of Purchasing and Materials Management (IFPMM) has
announced this award for the paper titled Value Creation through Strategic
Sourcing presented by them.
The team from Tata Steel has made its way to the worldwide finals by
clearing regional and national competition.
The team will receive the plaque in the NATCOM 2004, which is
being organized in New Delhi in November 2004. The team will be invited to participate in
the annual convention of IFPMM in China in 2005.
The Maple Leaf Award is a prestigious international award organized
through an annual competition amongst authors who have written actual and future oriented
papers concerning the materials management profession and its development.
Representing 43 purchasing and materials management associations and
over 150,000 purchasing professionals around the globe, the International Federation of
Purchasing and Materials Management (IFPMM) is a pioneering organization promoting
purchasing excellence.
In all, 32 countries across the world participated in the competition.
Tata Steel has been a regular participant in the Maple Leaf Award competition.
