Tata Steel under the aegis of Steel Plants Sports Board and Athletic Federation of India is organising the 4th National Federation Cup Athletic (Junior) championship on May 20 and 21, 2004 at JRD Tata Sports Complex. The 3rd National Federation Cup Championship was held at Chennai, where Tamil Nadu was declared the over all champion. Mr. A. N. Singh Deputy MD (CS), Tata Steel, announced this in a press conference today at Jamshedpur.

In these two days event more than four hundred athletes from twenty states are likely to participate in nearly 43 events, out of which 22 events are for junior men and 21 events for junior women.

The Indian athletic team, which will be participating at the Junior Asian Athletic Championship at Malaysia from June 12 to June 15, 2004, would be selected from this event depending on their performance.

Mr. M L Dogra Director AFI will be the director of this Championship. Besides, Mr. C K Valson, Mr. Arif Imam and Mr. V P Goswami have been nominated as Technical delegates. The concluding function will take place on May 21, 2004 at 5.30 pm.
