Jamshedpur to host 43rd SR National Inter - State Athletics

Jamshedpur,August 27, 2003:

The  43rd Senior National Inter State Athletic Championship - 2003 is being organised  at JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur, from 5th - 7th September 2003.

Over 700 athletes  from  28  States/Union  Territories   are  likely  to participate  in  this  Championship. This   Championship  will  also  be a confirmatory  selection   trials  for the Indian Team's participation in the "Asian Track & Field Championship - 2003".

The  Colourful  Opening Ceremony will be held on 4th of September from 5:00 PM onwards followed by a spectacular fire work display.

The  following  Busan  Asian  Games  Medallists are expected to participate along with other athletes:

Amateur Athletic  Federation  of  India  has nominated Dr. Kripal Singh as Chairman,  Technical  Committee.  Mr.  S.P.Pillai   will  be  the  Director, Competition.   Mr.  P.K.   Srivastava  is Organisational Delegate from AAFI. The  Technical   Delegates  are  Mr.  Sunny  Joshua,  Mr. M.C. Ghosh and Mr. Alexander Emanual. 

This  Championship  will cover all the 44 events of Athletics in both men & women  category.  The members of the AAFI Selection Committee would also be present   to  finalise  the  Indian  Team   for  the  Asian  Track  &  Field Championship, to be held at Manila from 20th - 23rd September 2003.
