Tata Steel team wins the National Competition for Business Management Simulation for the third time

Jamshedpur, June 30, 2003

Tata Steel has won the National Competition for Business Management Simulation held at New Delhi on 28th June 2003. 105 teams from various corporate houses across the country have participated in this competition and this is the third consecutive win for Tata Steel.

The Tata Steel team consisted of Sanjay Gattani of Finance & Accounts Division, Amit Agarwal of Office of Chief (Outsourcing) Rajesh Dayal from the office of Vice-President (Long Products) and Manasi Mahapatra from TOP in Marketing Division.

Tata Steel's Management Development Centre (TMDC) has been a strong proponent of this innovative methodology since 2000, when it got together teams from Tata Steel to participate in the Games Championship of All India Management Association. Management Simulation provides a dynamic replica of real life situation. It covers the use of management functions such as production, marketing &finance, and the application of strategy and leadership in the context of acompetitive environment. Participants get opportunities to test their understanding of business issues across 2-day period. Foreseeing that Simulation Games is likely to become the most effective learning methodology for enhancing competencies, a two day workshop was conducted by TMDC for 40 participants, across all locations at RMCE on 25th / 26th June, 2003.
