The ground breaking ceremony of the Hooghly Met Coke and Power
Company Limited (HMCPCL) was performed in the presence of Sri Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee,
Honourable Chief Minister, West Bengal. Lauding the effort towards the new enterprise, the
Chief Minister, assured the company of unstinted support. A joint venture with Tata Steel
Limited and West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC), the Company has signed
a contract with Beijing Sino Steel Industry & Trade Group (SSIT), to source technology
from Shanxi Provincial Chemical Design Institute, China. Further, a Power Purchase
Agreement was also signed between HMCPCL and West Bengal State Electricity Board for the
sale of power produced. |
