Tata Steel has won the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) National Quality
Award along with Durgapur Steel Plant for the year 2000 2001. This award is given
every year on "Quality" aimed at giving recognition to the iron and steel plants
registering highest quality performance during the year under review. The
award selection process is very rigorous and is based on quality aspects. Criteria
consists of 10 chapters ranging from the quality awareness, quality system, quality
planning, quality audits, quality results, customer satisfaction, vendor quality
development, quality of work life, human resource development and public responsibilities
& social obligations.
This is the fifth time Tata Steel bagged this award. Mr. A.N. Singh, Dy
Managing Director (Corporate Services), Tata Steel, received this award today at the
National Metallurgists Day celebrations being held in Bhubaneswar.
