3rd. Senior Jharkhand State Hockey Championship from 27 to 29 August, 2018

Ranchi, August 26, 2018

On occasion of the National Sports Day on 29 August, Tata Steel in association with Dept. of Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Jharkhand and Hockey Jharkhand would organize the 3rd. Senior Jharkhand State Hockey Championship 2018 for Men and Women from 27 to 29 August at the Marang Gomke Astroturf Hockey Stadium at Morabadi in Ranchi.

Mr. Manish Ranjan (IAS), Secretary, Dept. of Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Jharkhand would inaugurate the tournament at 10:00 AM on August 27, 2018. Twenty two teams coming from various districts of the state would participate in the tournament which would run as a round-robin league.

Commenting on the tournament, Mr. Bhola Nath Singh, President, Hockey Jharkhand said; “We are very pleased to be organizing the 3rd. edition of this important tournament in the Jharkhand Hockey Calendar and will ensure that the players have a good experience.”

Mr. Sunil Bhaskaran, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel said; “We are happy to contribute towards creating a competitive platform for Hockey talent in the form of this tournament. The last two editions were well received by the sporting community and we are committed to provide continuous impetus to talented Hockey players from Jharkhand to hone their skills.”
