TATA STEEL PROVIDES SKILL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH

Tata Steel is all set to provide more avenues for skill development for the youth through the ‘JN Tata Vocational Training Institute (JNTVTI)’. It may be noted that JNTVTI was established as a public charitable trust driven by the Capability Development Department of Tata Steel. The objective of the Trust is to provide skill-based vocational training in various sectors for employability and entrepreneurship opportunities to the eligible and interested youth.

The Trust intends to impart such vocational training under various skill development schemes run by the Central and State Governments. An MoU has also been signed between the Trust and The Govt. of India under the Flexi-MoU Scheme run by the latter.

In 2016 November JNTVTI launched the following industrial training courses. The courses were as follows:

  1. Welder cum gas Cutter
  2. Electrical fitter
  3. Mechanical fitter cum Rigger.

Thirty four students were enrolled in these courses and have been successfully placed with our vendor partners. Placement for current batch in Existing courses has been 100% with average CTC offered being Rs. 2.16 Lacs per annum.

In continuation of our endeavor to promote skill development and self-employment and entrepreneurial opportunities, we are going to start next batch of short term Vocational Training courses. After successful completion of training and assessment, certificates will be awarded by JN Tata Vocational Training Institute (JNTVTI)

Admission is now available in courses under the following Industrial Training Sectors:

  1. Rigger
  2. Safety Supervisor
  3. Welder cum gas Cutter
  4. Electrical fitter
  5. Mechanical fitter cum Rigger.
