Tata Steel completes the sale of its Hartlepool SAW pipe miles

Tata Steel paid homage to Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhai Tata on the occasion of his 113th Birth Anniversary today. Various events were held at different locations to commemorate the day.

  1. SONARI AIRPORT
    As a mark of tribute, a short film on JRD Tata’s life and his passion for flying, showcasing the philosophy of the pioneering industrialist, was screened at Sonari Airport by Tata Steel's Aviation department. The special program also included an Aero-modeling show and static display of aircraft. The Chief Guest on the occasion, Mrs Jolly Bhaskaran paid homage to the legend.

    Various aircrafts and helicopters were exhibited during the event.

  2. SPORTS DEPARTMENT
    The Sports department of Tata Steel organized a Cross Country race today for Jogga school children, Jusco and Project schools. Around 2000 children participated in the event. Earlier an under-12 and under-14 Football tournament had been organized on 26th July, 2017 at Armoury Ground. An Inter JDC Doubles Badminton Tournament for the women employees of Tata Steel was also organized on 28th July, 2017at JRD Tata Sports Complex.  A Road Safety Quiz and Pick and Run Competition was organized for the School Van Drivers of Jamshedpur on 28th July, 2017 at JRD Tata Sports Complex.

    Participation details for today’s cross country race were as follows:
    1. Project School: 407 participants from 11 schools.
    2. JOGGA School: 818 participants from 30 schools.

  3. TATA STEEL ADVENTURE FOUNDATION
    Jamshedpur Open Bouldering Championship was organized today at the Tata Steel Adventure Foundation. A total of 130 children participated in the event.

  4. JAMSHEDPUR SCHOOL OF ART
    A Sit & Draw" competition was organised yesterday at  the School premises for the mentally handicapped and retarded students to commemorate the birth anniversary of "JRD Tata".

    This has now become a yearly event and the Art Teachers of the Jamshedpur School of Art are requested to become Judges for this competition. The event has proved to be a great motivator for the students.
