Tata Steel’s Q1 FY’ 14 Key Production and Sales Figures

Jamshedpur, July 10, 2013

Tata Steel registered Hot Metal and Crude Steel production of 2.46 million tonnes (up by 20% y-o-y) and 2.22 million tonnes (up by 22% y-o-y) respectively for Q1 FY’14. Saleable Steel production was higher by 23% y-o-y (to 2.14 million tonnes), and Sales increased by 26% y-o-y to 2.01 million tonnes.

Major Highlights – Q1 FY’14

  • Best ever Hot Metal production of 2.464 million tonnes in a quarter (Previous best 2.458 million tonnes in Q4 FY’13).
  • LD#3 achieved its best ever quarterly production of 0.472 million tonnes (Previous best 0.454 million tonnes in Q4 FY’13).
  • Best ever TSCR production 0f 0.457 million tonnes in a quarter (Previous best 0.441 million tonnes in Q4 FY’13).
  • CRM achieved its best ever quarterly production of 0.416 million tonnes (Previous best 0.411 million tonnes in Q1 FY’11).
  • New Bar Mill achieved its best ever quarterly production of 0.221 million tonnes (Previous best 0.209 million tonnes in Q4 FY’13).
  • Merchant Mill achieved its best ever quarterly production of 0.107 million tonnes for the second consecutive quarter continuously (Previous best 0.104 million tonnes in Q3 FY’13).
