Tata Quality Management Services Hosts Creativity Workshop for Schools

Tata Quality Management Services (TQMS) has organised a two day workshop on creativity and leadership at Hotel Alcor, Jamshedpur which began today. The objective of this workshop is to equip the principals, the vice principals and the coordinators comprising the school leadership team, with personal effectiveness and leadership skills. Twenty five participants from eighteen schools participated in this Workshop.

The two-day programme aims at motivating the participants and will encourage them to reflect on classroom practices, to provide opportunities for group learning as well as to give a holistic exploration of the entire process at an inpidual level. At the same time the sessions also target to help the participants understand the requirements of the learners and ways of effectively addressing them. The training programme is being conducted by Dr Gururaj Karajagi, (M.Sc., Ph.D) Chairman, and Founder Director, Academy for Creative Teaching, Bangalore.

An excellent educationist herself, Ms Surekha Nerurkar, member of the Executive Committee of Tata Steel Education Excellence Programme (TEEP) inaugurated the workshop. Mr N K Sharan welcomed the chief guest and the other participants at the beginning of the programme.

With the aid of Audio-visuals, power point presentations, case studies, analogies and games, Dr Karajagi covered relevant topics such as Creative Teaching, Innovation, Creative Leadership and Ethics in Teaching.

About Dr Gururaj Karajagi:
A committed educationist, Dr Karajagi has spent more than three decades teaching and establishing outstanding institutions that reflect the highest principles of educational philosophy and human values. He is also a serving member of the State Resource Group (SRG) for the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) and NAAC accreditation, in the colleges of Karnataka. A well-read scholar, he has authored many stories, articles and textbooks in English and Kannada. His areas of interest include Creativity, Creative & Critical Problem Solving Skills, Communication skills, Motivation, Work ethics and Human Values. He has conducted more than 200 training programmes in India and abroad for educational and corporate organizations.
