MD, Tata Steel visits Tata Pigment on its 53rd Establishment Day

~ Day marked by the unveiling of JN Tata’s bust and an announcement of record breaking production of 11,100t at Tata Pigment ~

Mr H M Nerurkar, Managing Director, Tata Steel, visited Tata Pigments today on the eve of its 53rd Establishment Day. As a mark of tribute to the Tata empire’s founder, Mr Nerurkar unveiled the bust of J N Tata and ushered in the day’s celebration.

Mr Prakash Sarode, Managing Director, Tata Pigments, while extending a warm welcome to Mr Nerurkar, apprised him of the fact that that during 2010-11 the Tata Pigments has surpassed all its previous records of Production and Sales and achieved the Target of 11,100t.

During his visit, Mr Nerurkar inaugurated and took a keen interest at an exhibition enfolding the history and progressive growth of Tata Pigments. The exhibition depicts the voyage of the company from 1959 to 2011 – transformation of the then Cyanides & Pigments Pvt. Ltd., in 1959 to the present Tata Pigments Limited. In his address to the gathering comprising officials, employees, union officials, vendors, business partners and others, Mr Nerurkar appreciated the milestones achieved by Tata Pigments and ensured all help from Tata Steel as well as other Tata Group companies to take its business forward.

Others present on the occasion included Mr Sanjeev Paul, Chairman, Tata Pigments Limited and Vice President (Corporate Services), Tata Steel; Mr Rakeshwar Pandey, President, Tata Pigments Workers’ Union; Mr A M Misra, Vice President (Coke, Sinter Iron & Industrial Relations) and Mr Partha Sengupta, Vice President (Raw Materials), Tata Steel; Mr. Manish Sharma, MD, JUSCO; Mr Amitava Bakshi, MD, Jamipol; Mr. B. K. Das, Mr. Debhasis Bhattaharya, Directors, Tata Pigments Limited, Mr. B. P. S. Panwar, Ex-MD, Tata Pigments, union officials and others.

Mr Sanjiv Paul released the Annual Operating Plan 2011-12 of Tata Pigments Limited and said that all efforts would be made for its rapid growth in its all areas of activities. Mr Rakeshwar Pandey appreciated the efforts of the workers and thanked the Tata Steel and Tata Pigment management for ensuring a conducive workspace for its task-force.
