Vietnam Prime Minister visits Tata Steel

HIS EXCELLENCY MR. NGUYEN TAN DUNG-
PRIME MINISTER OF SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM
VISITS TATA STEEL 
 

As a part of his three day official visit to India, the Honorable Prime Minister of Socialist Republic of Vietnam Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung was in Jamshedpur to visit Tata Steel works and other facilities today. His Excellency was felicitated by Mr. B Muthuraman, Managing Director, Tata Steel at Steelennium Hall in Tata Steel Works in a ceremony amidst huge grandeur.

Mr. B Muthuraman welcomed the Prime Minister of Socialist Republic of Vietnam and said, "This is a moment of pride and honour for Tata Steel and Jamshedpur to have the PM visit the Steel city on his first visit to India. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in Vietnam Steel Corporation and Vietnam Government for extending their support so that the MoU between Tata Steel and Vietnam Steel Corporation went through. It is our intention to come up with high quality steel plant and mining facility in Vietnam as soon as possible."

His Excellency, Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung, while addressing the gathering at Steelennium Hall said, "The purpose of my visit is to take the relationship between India and Vietnam to greater heights because the people of these two countries enjoy similar cultural and traditional practices. I am delighted to visit this city on my first trip to India and I admire the spirit of self reliance in the people of Jamshedpur. Tata Steel has started the wave of industrialization in India and its efforts to develop its capabilities to produce high quality steel to the world, keeping in mind its social responsibilities towards its communities is truly commendable."

As a part of his first visit to Jamshedpur; the Prime Minister went around the Hot Strip Mill and Cold Rolling Mill in Tata Steel Works. He also visited the Tata Steel Archives and Jubilee Park where he planted a tree. During his short visit to the Steel City, the PM was accompanied by Mr. B Muthuraman, MD - Tata Steel, Vietnam ambassador to India, Mr. Vu Quang Diem and Indian ambassador to Vietnam Mr. Lal P Muana. As a part of his first official tour to Jamshedpur, the PM was informed about the various activities, initiatives, systems and processes that are followed at Tata Steel.
