Tata Steel opened its second retail outlet of “steeljunction”, at Siliguri today. The outlet at the Sunflower Mall, Siliguri was inaugurated by Mr. Anand Sen, Vice President (Flat Products, Tata Steel). Also present on the occasion was Mr. Sarvesh Kumar, Chief Marketing and Sales (Agrico) and Chief (Retail Initiatives). 

The “steeljunction” store spread over an area of 3500 sq. ft. houses products made out of steel.  Product categories like furniture, utensils, life style products, modular kitchen, home appliances, hardware items and others are also on display.  Apart from the categories mentioned, all Tata Steel sub brands like TATA SHAKTEE, TATA TISCON, TATA PIPES and TATA AGRICO would also be sold through this outlet.

The main objective of Tata Steel behind venturing into organized retail was to change the perception of people towards steel and to showcase steel as providing useful products that touch the lives of ordinary people. The company is planning to open six more such stores by March 2008.
