The Ministry of Steel awarded Tata Steel Limited with the Prime Minister’s Trophy for 2013-14, Steel Minister’s Trophy for 2012-13 and a Certificate of Excellence for 2011-12.

Mumbai, April 19, 2017: Tata Steel Limited bagged the PM’s trophy for Best Performing Integrated Steel Plant for the year 2013-14, the Steel Minister’s Trophy for the year 2012-13 and a Certificate of Excellence 2011-12 for being the ‘Best Performing Integrated Steel Plant’ in the country, at a ceremony held in Mumbai. In recognition of its excellent performance, the trophies were received by Mr. T V Narendran, Tata Steel MD, India and South East Asia and Mr. R Rabi Prasad, President, Tata Worker’s Union from Hon’ble Minister of Steel, Shri Chaudhary Birender Singh.  Since the inception of the PM’s Trophy Award in 1992-93, Tata Steel has been recognized as the best integrated steel plant ten times.

The PM’s trophy recognizes integrated steel companies that have an outstanding performance in the vital sector of the national economy, which draws heavily on national resources of capital and skilled manpower.

Expressing his gratitude, while receiving the award, Mr. T V Narendran said, “We are honored to have received this award from the Govt. of India once again! The company underwent three rounds of rigorous assessment conducted by a panel of distinguished judges. The panel, highly appreciated the enthusiasm and involvement of the employees, reaffirming Tata Steel’s core strength of skilled and motivated workforce that has a ‘will to excel’. The award was bestowed for its performance in various areas such as volume growth, operational efficiencies, R&D, sustainability, quality & branding of steel, customer satisfaction, human resource development etc.
