Tata Football Academy set to organise Grassroots Leaders course

Tata Football Academy has been developing young footballers in the age group of 15 – 19 years since last quarter century. Many footballers from TFA have had an illustrious career in India.

One of the key factors attributed to the status of Indian football is almost absence of structured grassroots football development programme, which encompasses young boys of 6 – 12 years and also coaches to train them.

TFA has now embarked upon to develop coaches at the grassroots level to encourage development of football in schools.

For the first time in state of Jharkhand, The All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) Grassroots Leaders Course under the aegis of and Jharkhand Football Association (JFA), being organized at Tata Football Academy from 22nd to 24th April 2016.

The programme aims at training coaches and developing basic techniques and skills in football. It is designed to train the coaches to organize, direct and conduct basic football coaching, targeting especially young players. The course will comprise of both practical and theoretical sessions. The course is open for school sports teachers who are committed to undergo the above coaches training. There are plans to organize AIFF ‘D’ Certificate Course to be conducted by All India Football Federation, in the near future.

Twenty nine coaches from various schools in Jamshedpur and coaching centers have registered for this course, which will be conducted by Mr. Akshaya Das, Coach TFA, who is also a qualified AIFF instructor for the Grassroots Course.
