Tata Steel can now offer small and medium sized businesses in
the industry, a pre-configured industry specific solution.
A unique programme, “World
Class Work Force” was launched at the
Ferro Alloys Plant, Bamnipal to upgrade the skills of employees
to world class standards.
The
Bearings division has emerged as a preferred supplier with Hero
Honda Motors Limited (HHML) and Toyota Motors. Hero Honda has
conferred on Tata Steel the status of “Direct
On-Line Supplier”. Toyota Qualis has recognised
Tata Bearings as a ZERO ppm supplier.
In keeping with the effort of unlocking
value through initiatives like Customer Value Management and
Retail Value Management, Tata Steel continues
to work with customers to assess on-going progress and to generate
new ideas that benefit the customers.
Retail Value Management, Haat campaigns, customer and retailer meets
have ensured satisfactory footfalls at Tata Steel’s retail outlets
and Haats. In its effort to reach out directly to customers and create
a positive brand referral, Tata Steel has created a distinct identity
for the outlets.
Longs
products division has partnered Konkan Railway Corporation in one
of India’s most innovative & eco-friendly projects - the
“Skybus” project. It is an effort to
create a viable alternative in the form of a low cost, mass, rapid
transit system. A 1.7 km test track has been constructed with Tata
Tiscon reinforced bars. Tata Steel has supplied a total of 2500
MT of rebars to Konkan Railway in 2004-05 for this project.
