The
turnover of all branded products
increased by 42% from Rs. 2365 crores to Rs.
3362 crores in FY 04-05.

Many
new initiatives were undertaken by various divisions
of Tata Steel to enhance its value
proposition to the customers. These include
production of a wider GC sheet by Flat products business and
the launch of the Tiscon campaign and e-linking by Long products
business.

Sales
of Tata Shaktee (Corrugated
Galvanised Sheets) increased from 1.58 lakh tonnes to 1.75 lakh tonnes
recording an increase of 11% over the previous year. |
Sales
of Tata Steelium (Cold
Rolled Sheets) increased from 2.83 lakh tonnes to 3.55 lakh tonnes
recording an increase of 26% as compared to the last financial year.

Sales
of branded long products was 2.63 lakh tonnes. |
The
Company registered sales of 0.44 lakh tonnes of Tata Wiron during
the year. Tata Wiron was launched in 2004-05 and has been well received
in the market. The Wires division is among the top ten wire companies
in the world. It is the largest wire producer in the country with
a presence in many global markets. The division produces various types
of coated and uncoated steel wires for diverse applications such as
auto, infrastructure and power segments. |
