Income Generation
Agri Extension
In 2004-05, the Jamadoba unit provided
farmers with HYV seeds, organised agricultural training and enhanced irrigation facilities
to help them grow a second and third crop.
Water Management

Ever though the Dhanbad district of
Jharkhand, where Jamadoba is located, receives the highest rainfall in the state, a water
crisis constantly looms large over the farmers of the area. TSRDS has undertaken watershed
projects in two blocks of the district. It is also participating in a Government of India
aided project to check soil erosion and run-off. This project will be implemented in 48
villages.
Allied Activities
One animal husbandry unit was established
and seven were sustained by TSRDS. It also distributed1800 fruit tree saplings to farmers
during the year. These activities enabled households to supplement their family income and
improve their nutritional status.
